Fat Jar (TLS)
This page describes how to run a FactCast server with TLS enabled.
The example is provided under factcast-examples/factcast-example-tls-server.
It sticks as close as possible to the unencrypted example described under Fat Jar, to demonstrate the necessary changes and nothing more.
Setup
First, for running a TLS server, you need a certificate. We packaged a snakeoil localhost certificate for you to test.
This cert can be found in the repository’s src/etc/certificates/.
In order to create your own self-signed certificate, you can use the shell script generate_selfsigned_cert.sh in the same folder as a starting point.
| The snakeoil certificate is for testing only. Always use valid trusted certificates when you run FactCast in production. |
In order to run the TLS server, go to factcast-examples/factcast-example-tls-server and run
mvn spring-boot:run
To connect to it, see Ports.
